There’s a good chance that your business is already using collaboration software like Slack, Hipchat, or one of its competitors.
Ten years ago (was it only ten years?) the best that most businesses could hope for was a clunky, expensive, and neglected corporate intranet — now there’s a raft of options that bring the best in collaborative technology to even the smallest enterprise.
And, given that the CircleLoop platform integrates with both Slack and Hipchat, we thought we’d take a moment to shine some light on these great products.
Here are some of their most useful features:
Every flavour of communication
At the core of both these products is streamlined communication, with messaging, videochat, and calls all controlled from a central location. The calls are where we come in, and CircleLoop users can track all call and account activity through these apps.
Group messaging reduces the reliance on email, which I think we can all agree is a good thing. Email was never designed for the kinds of uses businesses put it to, with the result that, well… most people just don’t bother to read them.
When it comes to workplace failures, 86% of employees blame lack of communication and collaboration, so a change of approach is clearly needed. And because the design of collaboration software interfaces is similar to social media platforms, users tend to have an intuitive understanding of how they work.
If you’re not the kind of person who gets excited about really good file sharing (I am) then you might not really ‘get’ this feature at first. Sure, it’s not the kind of eye-catching benefit that makes CTOs reach for the chequebook, but it is one of the most useful elements of either platform.
Not only are files stored and shared between users, the content is also indexed to make them searchable. 74% of users found that that access to knowledge was faster with this kind of technology, leading to a one quarter increase in productivity.
Ready for the buzzwords? They’re Scalable and Freemium
Unless this is the first blog post you’ve ever read, you might be just a little bit tired of hearing how ‘scalable’ certain ‘freemium’ products are. But the fact is, these products are super scalable. I know, I know. It’s also useful when businesses, especially small or new businesses, can try out products without putting any money down.
If it sounds like I’m struggling to find much difference between Hipchat and Slack, it’s not because I’m trying to be neutral — they are very similar.
Some unbiased experimentation has been done to figure out which is better. The result — inconclusive. It depends what you’re looking for.
CircleLoop is another highly scalable (sorry) product that helps SMEs and Start-ups compete. By providing local and national numbers that work anywhere, we help businesses stay connected in the office, or on the move.
That’s all without any expensive hardware, because who needs another phone in their life?
